My thoughts on The Island of Last Things by Emma Sloley

I picked up The Island of Last Things because the idea of the last zoo on Earth sounded cool, but I ended up loving it for a variety of reasons. The characters and their love of animals felt real, the world was sad without being over the top, as in, I could totally see this happening as we are already headed that way with the environment, and there were so many little moments that stuck with me after I finished. It’s the kind of book that sneaks up on you. If you like speculative fiction that’s more about people and animals than action, I really think this one’s worth reading.
