I can’t put my finger on the exact day I decided I wanted to write a novel. The desire crept in quietly, insinuating itself deeply into my gray matter without me even noticing. I never stood a chance.
If I had any inclination to place blame (which I don’t) my finger would be firmly pointed at two culprits: e-books and self-published New Adult fiction. A late bloomer in some respects, I didn’t start downloading e-books until a few years ago. Combining the ease of downloading with the lower price points of self-published novels, I found myself reading more than ever before. And I discovered–and fell in love with–the newly termed genre, New Adult fiction.
So I guess you’d say that my desire to write arrived somewhere between reading Easy by Tammara Webber, Slammed by Colleen Hoover and Fallen too Far by Abbi Glines.
I think it is here to stay.
