Our Crooked Hearts by Melissa Albert is an absolute gem of a story about a mother and daughter involved in witchcraft. I had been having a hard time getting into a book lately, but this one kept me turning pages from the start. Albert’s storytelling is smooth and flawless, and her characters were fun to follow. Crazy family dynamics and the messiness of love had me feeling all the feels. I found myself laughing, crying, and just plain rooting for the characters as they navigated life’s twists and turns. Gilbert’s writing is beautifully descriptive, and she creates a vivid small-town setting that makes you feel like you’re right there in the heart of it all. If you’re in the mood for a heartfelt, emotionally charged read, I highly recommend picking it up.
